At d’Auvergne School, we have a strong ethos of “Fit for the Future”. One aspect of being fit, is being physically fit.
A child who is physically fit will benefit in all aspects of their everyday lives. This includes their self-confidence, respect for themselves and others, improved health and academically.
As a school, we provide a broad and balanced programme of PE which we believe every child should have. Activities are designed to be enjoyable, vigorous, purposeful and regular. By providing positive experiences, a lifelong interest in physical activity is hoped, as well as promoting a positive attitude towards a healthy and active lifestyle.
The range of physical activities is wide and includes dance, games, football, rugby, swimming, tennis and outdoor education.
As well as this, there are numerous opportunities to compete against other schools in several different sporting competitions such as netball, rugby, football athletics and cricket.
Physical Education (PE) develops a child’s confidence in their own abilities to perform in a range of activities. It will help assist their own physical development and knowledge of the body in action. PE enables a child to be creative, competitive, co-operative and the opportunity to encounter different challenges as an individual, in groups and teams.
Working closely with Coach Rob (Jersey Sport) our range of physical activities is wide and includes dance, games, football, rugby, swimming, tennis and outdoor education.
