In Futures we strive to provide rich topic-based learning that is catered to the individual needs and interests of our children. All students have access to a broad and rich curriculum that fosters independence, provides appropriate challenge, and develops lifelong skills.
Developing emotional regulation is very important and our learners achieve their best when they feel safe, healthy, confident and happy. Within Futures, we work hard to understand and support each child’s individual sensory thumbprint. All behaviours are communication and learners need to be supported to express themselves and to emotionally regulate. As ARC practitioners, we are careful to adjust our teaching and environment to cater for these individual sensory needs.
Small class sizes allow us to give each and every child a high level of attention and we work closely with care givers and external agencies to set specific targets for every child; we assess against these continuously, adjusting targets when appropriate. Our curriculum and timetable are flexible, allowing us to provide plenty of enrichment opportunities and learning both in and beyond the classroom.
